DIAMOND SPARKLE  ~  SUPPLY LIST AND

PRE-CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS

►      Fabric:

          Fabric for Corner Beams and Border:  2/3 yard

          Background Fabric:  1 yard

          Backing:  1 yard

          Binding:  ¼ yard

You will need to pre-cut:

          Fabric for the Beam (Center of the block): 

                   - Cut 2 strips 7" x WOF (Width of Fabric)

                             - Sub-cut into 8 squares          7" x 7"

                   - Trim down the remainder of the 7" strip to 4"

                             - Sub-cut into 4 squares          4" x 4"

                   - Cut 2 strips 1 1/2" x 17" (border)

                   - Cut 2 strips 1 1/2" x 16" (border)

                   - Cut 2 strips 1 1/2" x 10" (border)

           Background fabric:

                   - Cut 1 strip 11" x WOF

                             - Sub-cut 2 squares        11" x 11"

                             - Sub-cut 2 strips           1" x 11"

                   - Cut 1 strip 7" x WOF

                   - Cut 1 strip 4" x WOF

                   - Cut 3 strips 2" x WOF (binding)

Bring whatever extra fabric you have, just in case of mis-cuts.

►      The Corner Beam Tool is required for this pattern.  The tool is available from the instructor during class, or at your local quilt shop.

►  Coordinating or neutral piecing thread

►  Rotary cutter with fresh blade

►  Cutting mat

►  6 ½” x 12 ½” ruler

►  12 ½” square ruler

►  Masking tape or blue painter’s tape

►  Sewing machine, clean and oiled, with new needle, ¼” foot

►  Basic sewing supplies:  fabric scissors, pins, seam ripper, etc.

►  Pencil and pad for notes

►  Small iron and pressing surface
